Welcome to Intercollegiate Horse Show Association Zone 5, Region 1!  Our region has twelve member colleges from Arkansas, Kentucky, Mississippi and Tennessee.  We offer intercollegiate competition in hunter seat and western for undergraduate students and alumni.

Murray State University hosted two regular season western competition shows on November 5-6, 2011.  Murray riders and Region 1 coaches and competitors welcomed Murray State western coach Don Delaney back after having to take some time off due to his health.    Murray's hunt seat coach, Sue Robinson, did a great job filling in for Coach Delaney and the 2011 Region 1 western team Regional champions added two more High Point Team Awards to their season so far.  Ethan Wilborn (Murray State University) and Alina Carter (MTSU) continue to keep the High Point Western Rider competition interesting with only Carter now only three points behind Wilborn in the standings. Eleven western riders are already qualified for the 2012 Regional Western Championships which will be hosted by MTSU on February 26, 2012.
